In early 2020, St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael, Minnesota, decided to move a decade-old monthly stewardship newsletter “in house” by contracting parishioner Jim Thorp and Archangel Stomp to publish fresh stories and strong photos that inspire discipleship and generous living. DISCIPLE started as an eight-page, monthly newsletter that mailed tabbed and folded; now a 12-plus-page, quarterly publication that mails flat to roughly 2,200 parish families.

The Companion newsletter

Client: Companions of Christ, St. Paul, Minnesota

Services: Concepting, research, writing, editing and layout

During Lent 2021, the Companions of Christ, a fraternal group of diocesan priests in the Archdiocese of St, Paul and Minneapolis, hired Archangel Stomp to resurrect an on-again, off-again newsletter to friends, family, parishioners and supporters. Jim Thorp looked at a wide variety of past newsletters and proposed a previous title, The Companion, for an eight-page newsletter to be mailed flat two to four times a year to the Companions’ mailing list and distributed at members’ parishes.

The Way newsletter

Client: Saint Ambrose Catholic Community, Woodbury, Minnesota

Services: Concepting, research, writing, editing and layout

As parishes in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis slowly resumed normal operation in summer of 2021, Saint Ambrose Catholic Community hired Archangel Stomp to launch a quarterly newsletter to re-engage parishioners in communal life and encourage and grow stewardship within the parish. The eight-page newsletter is mailed flat to parishioner homes and available for pickup at the parish.
